Full Version: unFinalised CDR's not being read

Today I discovered a CD Burner in the office, so burnt off a load of odd stuff... One CDR did not finalise as it had only 142meg on it.

I cant read that disc here at home, nor can I seem to finalise it, nor can I seem to add more to it (although it read again at work)

I cant believe I cant even finalise a disc, or read an unfinalised one. In all the time I've been using my computer, I must have never come across this before!
I can see the 142meg session there, using Nero, but thats it.

Useless (ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC) questions:
1) How do I finalise a disc
2) How do I get my drives to read unfinalised ones? I have a Matsh1ta-DVD, and a Lite-on 24x. I fail to believe they wont do it

Thanks,

The absolute clueless one,

Some programs you could try:
Isobuster
CDDataRescue
CDCheck

Thanks Tigre - ISOBuster did it. smile.gif

I still cant believe I cant read an unfinalised CD, and that there isn't just a "Finalise CD option in Nero". Or is it that these are in a different format that I cant read?

I don't have any discs handy that aren't finalized, but you could 'continue multisession disc' and add a small file, burn and finalize. I thought there was a simple 'finalize' option but I can't find it either. Perhaps I'm thinking of a different piece of software.
