Hi, I'm looking at buying a flash-based portable audio player, and want to make the most out of the limited space they have. Which players are available that support AAC or OGG (I know there are many which support WMA)?

Ideally ones which are fairly cheap...I know some of the iRiver ones do, but they're a tad dear. Do any players at all support HE AAC?

Thanks for your replies...I can't seem to find much by trawling through threads and using the search engine.

Panasonic has a few models. Among others: http://www.panasonic.com/consumer_electron...dio_players.asp

The Neuros 128MB is on sale now for $100. Officially, Ogg Vorbis is not supported, but there is beta firmware that supports it.

Thanks for those replies guys. The Neuros is too bulky for what I'm looking for, and the Panasonic models are too pricey though.

The only other device I can seem to find is this one, which supports AAC: "64Mb Zillion PA30B Multiformat Player & Storage Device MP3/ACC". It's one of those ones that come with only a small amount of built in memory, and are upgradable by SmartMedia cards, which is not ideal. It hasn't had the best reviews though, so has anyone had any experience with it?

If not (giving up on AAC/OGG, and going for wma instead), I'm looking at the Oracom ORC200M, or one of the Creative Muvo ones. What are these ones like? And what is the difference between the Muvo and Muvo NX? Is it just a redesign anad added mic recording functionality? Would you recommend either?

Oh...the player should be at least 128MB by the way (256 if it's mp3 only).

Thanks

A cursory look shows that the NX has a display and up to 256 mB of memory.
The plain Nuvo has no display and a maximum of 128 mB.
No mention of AAC or Ogg.

For roughly the same price as the 256 mB NX (~$190 US) you could get a 256 mB Iriver (300 series) which now or shortly will have Ogg capability. You had said the Iriver was too much, but maybe they aren't the same cost in Belgium (if you are in Belgium)

The Flash Neuros is roughly the size of the original Rio, and at $100 (must be clearance price) is a bargain with all the features and flexibility to add a HD. The downside cmpared to Iriver, besides size, is the Iriver uses an easily swapped standard battery, where the Neuros battery is buried in the case so when it is discharged you are stuck with around 8 hours to charge it up.

I think I'm gonna be going for the Oracom 128MB player. I don't like the fact that the MuVo doesn't have a screen, and the MuVo NX is too expensive.

The iRvier models are much pricier, at least over here (I'm in the UK at the moment).

Does anyone have any experience with this Oracom model? If not, I'll place my order tomorrow I think.
