This fella' is making very subjective claims about the sound quality of foobar versus QCD and his whole argument seems to rest on the "inferior M$ kernel streaming hack." I don't know much about the subject matter but I think a blind test would serve him well. (I've not yet tried QCD).

I personally refuse to take anyone who uses "M$" seriously, no matter what the claims are... it's a matter of principle

A Gd read, those who wish to understand what's going on between all the mp3 decoders of coolplayer, winamp, foobar and QCD it helps to read. take note OGG decoder doesn't apply much here but sound quality on a whole i think is being dicussed. it depends on each user's preference too, try all for best results. =)

It is Roj. Trust me (seriously). During his time at 3dss he made the exact same claims. Also, his obsession with KS stems from an argument with a mod there.

He's still active on Fileforum and the QCD forums... well, let's not get too obsessed with a troll... though I find his subjectivism intriguing.

There's no way he's on iRiver forums because he actually owns an iRiver player... according to his claims, his ears would be too good for a sound-to-noise ratio of 90 dB.

I can add that this guy also has the same equipment (PM9 and Santa Cruz) as Roj and that he also refers to Winamp as Tinamp (=Royism TM).

Mark this one as the 2nd inane thread at the iriver forums I have read. The other being the one about tomcat's claims that lossless isnt lossless. After being here for a few months I just cannot stand any other audio boards. All for one simple reason, when somebody says something sounds better based on subjective 'testing' this actually carries some weight. It's amazing how much bias and subjectivism influences people's choices and recommendations as we see here with Roj. head-fi especially makes me want to break something, but lets not talk about that

I love it when somebody cites the visual appearance ("it looks like an abortion") of a player as a strike against it when it should be a non issue.

Anyway, remind me not to click on any iriver forum links in the future
