Full Version: EAC LAME MP3 Command Line Option

I've been using EAC and LAMe for a while and after reading a post in the forum, one question came up.

I use the following command line option in EAC Compression options:

--alt-preset fast extreme

and in the bitreate field below it's selected

VBR 192 kbit/s

--------------------------------------------------------

My question is, does the value in the bitrate field afects the command line option?
Or does the command line option overrides everything else?

Thanks!

The command line options ovverride the value in bitrate field..

If i'm not wrong in older version of EAC, specifying 320kbps in bitrate field overrided command line options

No.

Yes.

Don't mean to be abrupt, but the answer is that simple.

Picmixer is a bit wrong here: if you select CBR 320 kbps, the output file will always have 320 kbps, no mather what you enter in the command line options box.

The best thing would be using "User defined encoder" with ".mp3" as extension. Then select the path to the LAME executable and use the following command line options:

"--alt-preset fast extreme %s %d" (without the quotation marks).
