Hey guys. need some advice.

Ok finally got foobar working and kinda love it.
anyway I need some advive. I got an audigy 2 sz (or zs? second edition) and a 2 speaker/headphone set up going through my denon amp. so I have read a lot of things about how to set up the card so it play correctlt ect. so here are some questions.

speaker volume: I have this set at 60% is this OK i heard that when using 100% there is distortion on audigy cards?

main volume control and wave volume control. should this also be set below 60% or doesnt it matter?

Foobar2k.

output data format i have at 24bit. correct

in dsp i have got the resampeling converting working to resample everything to 48Khz. with this setting I dont get alien noises in the sound test in the forum section.

output method? what should I use. waveout, direct sound directsound 2?
2 sounds weird to me different!?

The wav volume must be used in order for the wav sounds (games, music, system sounds) to match the other channels in volume (mostly midi, since CD is digital now).
The Main volume must be used in order to set the headphones volume.

Since you've got an ampli, set the main channel to the middle, and set the wav channel to the highest level until the udial sample clips (it can be OK at max, then leave at max).
Then play an MP3 and set the main volume so that the MP3 sounds as loud as a CD player in the ampli (no more). Check again that Udial doesn't clip.
Then you can adjust the wav volume lower if needed, if midi is too quiet in comparison, for example. It had to be set at max just for the main channel calibration against CD Player.

Again, don't play udial in speakers. Headphones only.

I have the volume dsp disabled in foobar. 0db, straight out to the amp.
