AFAIK there's no replaygain support by Monkey's Audio developers. If I replaygain Monkey's Audio files or APL files under fb2k do you think that could be understood on other player's with APE support (eventually) ? Is there a replaygain tag standard for different formats? If so I guess I can safely replaygain my Monkey's Audio files.

By the way does an APL file has any requirement whatsoever that it will point into an APE file? Could the author of APL plug-in support allow the creation and reading of APL files based on any other lossless format as long as the CUE sheet points to the correct file.

That's a weird question. I don't know other players that support ReplayGain natively at all and in players that don't you are on the mercy of plugin writers to hack some code in. I don't believe Matt will add support for his plugins.

There is no 'standard'. Foobar started using logically named tag fields that Vorbisgain originally used and writes them into any tag format that files support.

APL has no format requirements and foo_apl has supported all file types from the beginning. Lossy and lossless.

Thanks for the info. Case.

The newest XMPlay will now also do replaygain on all files that stores replaygaininfo in ape2 or id3v2 tags.
New native input plugins here. Apart from foobar2000 it's the only player I know of that will support replaygain with Monkey's Audio.
