Ok this is something I'm looking forward to. I want to join split lossless files into a single file and use APL system. Can the diskwriter plug-in be extended so that it could create single output file given a CUE sheet? I don't know if any decoding is necessary for this. If one is not planning to change the quality level but just consolidate APE files into a single one it might be possible to do it without decode/reencode.

I don't think it is possible.

And I don;t expect a lot of demand for that (joining several lossless files without reencoding) smile.gif

However, decoding to a single continuous file and writing a .cue sheet could be useful.

Yes but for the sake of generality if it could output a single WAV file then it should be able to output single file in any format. tongue.gif Then it could be made even better so that it will bypass decoding/reencoding if the input and output formats are the same format.

That will be a universal splitter/consolidator. BTW I guess it should be possible to split/consolidate MPC files without transcoding. Is there anything that prevents this with the MPC format?
