My rig has two R/W drives: LTR52246S & LTR52327S. Recently i attempted to burn with the LTR52327S using EAC, but receive the dialog box "Can't Determine Write Speeds!" There are no (apparent) problems reading with this drive, and i can write with the LTR52246S without trouble. This is what i've tried so far:
*Flashed latest firmware to both drives
*Tried Native Win32 Interface, ASPI V4.71.2, and ASAPI V1.3
*Tried different IDE cable, IDE channel (ATA133 pci card, Secondary MB channel)
*Uninstalled and Re-installed EAC
*Enabled "DMA if available" IDE/ATAPI Controller Transfer mode
the system is Win2k SP4, intel BOX865PERL MB w/ latest BIOS + drivers, 512MB RAM, 2.6GHZ PIV 800MHZ FSB
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

All that I thought were the key of the trouble before, u have tried.
while maybe the problem is with the SP4 of Win2k, uninstall the sp4 and install sp3,then have a try!
PS:
did u use the asapi in the right way?
have a look at follow:
Q:What is the difference between ASPI, ASAPI and Native drivers?
A:EAC communicates directly with the CD-ROM drives. For this EAC make use
of several interfaces which do the low level work. You can choose the
interface by your own in the EAC options (depending which interfaces
are installed in your computer).
ASPI is from Adaptec, it comes preinstalled in Win95/98. In all other
Windows it needs to be installed, but in these OS the installer tests
if any Adaptec hardware is in your computer. Nevertheless you can try
to install it, download here.
VOB produced a replacement called ASAPI. It is freely available from
here.
In WinNT/2000/XP EAC is able to use a native interface in that OS. This
is still buggy and only recommended when you don't want to install 3rd
party software. Nevertheless, this will only work if you are logged in
with admin rights. If you encounter problems, it is strongly
recommended to download ASAPI and to change the interface to that.
Copy the file "WNASPI32.DLL" from any version of the sofeware "Nero" to the directory of EAC, then choose ASPI plugs.
Good luck!:)

Hi OctWadyZ,
Thanks for the reply. Here's what ended up working:
1.)Uninstall EAC 0.9b4
2.)Install Nero5
3.)Install EAC 0.95pb5
FYI: EAC 0.9b4 was installed as it was the newest version that would allow ok GUI with previous OS (Win98 SE); i Should have checked for and tried newer EAC version sooner!

According to André Wiethoff (he made that statement on the official EAC board which is online again), there will be a new release of EAC around christmas ... including better support for newer highspeed CDRW drives like the Plex Premium (maybe support for newer DVD+/R(W)as well) ... I heard some rumours about AccurateRip implementation as well which would be an interesting step forward IMHO ...
