I have been using the Winamp 2.95 Library for a while now, and I love how quickly it does everything. One thing I do not love is the fact that anytime I tag an MP3 and leave the Album blank, Winamp automatically puts in the Artist name.

While this might be useful for some people, it makes it much more difficult for me to add proper Album tags to the songs that have none.

What I would like to do is find a program that will make a list of all the files that have an Album tag that is the same as the Artist tag, so that I can throw all those files to Musicbrainz to handle.

Foobar 2000!

Just go under "Preferences" Title formatting" and make sth like this:

$strcmp(%Album%,%Artist%) - %Artist% - %Title%

will return "1 - 'Artist' - 'Title'" if tags are equal
else " - 'Artist' - 'Title'" if tags are not equal

Close preferences window

then CTRL+A to select all files

"playlist">"Sort">"Sort by display name" will sort all files with 1 in the beginning to the end of playlist

Select all files with 1

Rightclick on one of the files

"masstagger">"Edit tags">"add">"Set Value">"Fieldname"=Album>"Field Value"=what you want

DONE
