Somtimes when splitting big mp3s with cue files, i get the foll. error msg in Musicutter.

"Completed, but with 1 or x frame errors, x bytes skipped".

Further examination of the musicutter log reveals "Frame header not found in source at x, y bytes skipped"

Mp3utility checks the big mp3 as ok and shows no problems.

Just as a test, i joined the split mp3s created by musicutter and found it was not exactly identical to the original. Presumably the bytes skipped had a role to play with this. With files where the error does not show up, the rejoined files were bit perfect with the original.

I have run into the above error quite a few times now, Can anyone explain why this error occurs and way around it ?

Are there any other mp3 splitting programs i could use that accept cue files ? obviously without any rencoding being done to the split files.

i solved this using mp3trim. open in mp3trim and save that was it.

mp3trim fixes bad headers etc. After this treatment there was no errors when using musicutter.

an alternative way is to use mp3-directcut. it doe snot complain like musicutter does.

was not sure if this was goor not...so went the mp3trim way.
