(Reposting, sorry... mistakenly posted it in general instead of support...)

Hello there, I've been trying out my new ENVY 24 HT-S based sound card and have been trying to get it to output sound at the rear surround channel (the first 6 channels outputs through the crappy VIA VT1616 CODEC, the rear surround channel outputs through a much better Crystal 24bit/96KHz DAC...

I tried to use the DSP to move to rear channel... well, it worked, it moved it to the rear channel on the VT1616 CODEC... instead of the rear surround that I was hoping for.

Any idea about how to do it?

(I'm really sick of the VT1616's sound... blink.gif blink.gif low frequency missing, most sound becomes tinny... blink.gif blink.gif )

Thanks.
sld
Try disabling your onboard audio in the BIOS first?

Well, that VT1616 is on the ENVY24 HT-S based sound card... not onboard sound... which is why I want to move that to the two channel that is sent through a much better Crystal DAC chip...
