Hello

I am creating a browser based CD-ROM product which I would like to incorporate audio playback for PC / MAC and cross browser compatability. I am also seeking any type of programming language which does not rely on 3rd party audio players for playback but utilises its own source for playback along with simple controls such as play, stop and pause etc.

Does this exist in any programming languages? I came across several companies that produce JAVA Applets but there was a trade off with quality. I want 16bit audio since the product will be running from the CD-ROM!

Anybody have any info on this? I am not a programmer so would like to cut and paste code blink.gif

I can't think of any specific players at the moment, but I know you defnitely can play 16-bit audio in Java - I wrote a simple software synthsizer in Java once for kicks. To play MP3s in Java, you can use http://www.javazoom.net/javalayer/javalayer.html but I think that would require writing some Java code so it probably isn't exactly what you're looking for.

Thanks for the info...I think it's way too complicated for me to piece together and implement. Don't have any knowledge about JAVA and don't have the time to learn unfortunately.
