Maybe this topic was already treated but i couldn't manage to do it...What are the best settings to encode same wave files of live music with lame?(Sorry for my bad english!)

There's no reason why --alt-preset standard wouldn't work well on live music.

The only exception is if it's really bad, then I would suggest maybe --alt-preset 128 or even lower. I had some recordings of myself that I felt sounded better at 128 than at 256 laugh.gif

I've found the aps often gets outrageously high bitrate on live albums. Mostly because of the audience noise. This is an instance that I find adding the -Y switch really works. Especially considering on a live album, there is 'usually' no useful info in the high frequencies.
