I've just got Terratec DMX 6Fire, and have noticed that it doesn't wanna play mp3's in 4speakers mode. I have a 4.1 surround with front and rear speakers.

I've been playing arround for some time and it worked for a while, but I'm not shure what have I done 'couse now again it doesn't wanna play in all 4speakers.

It plays some divx movies, but not all, it seems it depends on how the movie is ripped.

Does it has to do anything with Sendura3D 'couse I've noticed that I cannot check that box anymore.


Any ideas?

I have a terratec aureon 5.1 sky, but I don't use sensaura. In fact I don't have any idea what it does, the only thing I know is that udial.wav test sample (see "test your soundcard for clipping" thread) sounds awful with sensaura enabled here.

For stereo -> 4 speakers conversion you might want to try foobar2000 + "convert stereo to 4 channels" DSP.

Anyway, I don't understand what's the point of playing back files that are stereo (= recorded for playback through 2 speakers) through 4 speakers. BTW: Processing lossy audio like mp3 (e.g. applying some artificial surround) can result in artifacts becoming audible.

Foobar 2000 with plug-in works fine, but I was wondering if there is a way to set the 4speakers playback in Terratec control panel, so I could use any mp3 player?

If not, is there a plug-in for Winamp 3?
