I'm not really sure where to put this thread, if it should even be in this forum.
It's a bit far-fetched but here it goes:
My problem is, (I think) Replaygain has written stuff to my id3v2 tags of my mp3s when I scanned them in, that's ok.
Now I try the new Winamp 5.0 to see how it is, I like it and keep using it.
Now I install AMIP, a plugin for winamp that among other things has a seach feature that you use to find files.
This feature uses id3lib ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/id3lib/ ) to read tags.
id3lib can't read the info off my id3v2 tags after they have been scanned by Replaygain (I think).
Replaygain, or something else in foobar itself, changes the tags, not just adding the dB number to the comments field but other things as well apparently that id3lib doesn't like and cannot read.
Any ideas?

OK it might have been a bug in a version of id3lib.
I don't have confirmation on that yet though.

Looking through those bug reports i see a number of complaints about unicode support. Perhaps it doesn't support whichever form of unicode characters you are using?

I'd probably try switching to ISO-8859-1 just to see if that helped.
