I have a pretty darn big collection of MP3 music and i still havent heard all the songs becouse they keep repeating.
I'm not really sure if this option is already somewhere under foobar options (even with a plugin), but i still haven't found it yet, so i'm suggesting its implementation.

Problems and solutions (depending on the play method and playlists)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Random ( play order ) doesnt seem "toss out" the played songs inside one playlist, so they can be played again, if the repeat "hits" them.
Solution: On and Off function per playlist. Playlist should contain 2 "folders". 1. Items to be played, 2. Items already played, so the random won't be able to play already played songs. The option can be reset (manually or automatically, after all the items have been played), or manipulated manually (drag&drop)

- Normal or Repeat ( play order ) Playlist A is playing. When the playlist B is played, it "forgets" the number of the song where it stopped playing in playlist A. When i play the playlist A again, it starts from the beginning.
Solution: On and Off function. Playlist "remembers" the last played item for each playlist, so it starts playing where it stoped last time that playlist was opened.

- Playlist Tabs also have the same problem. All tabs remember the positions where they stopped on each playlist when changing inbetween tabs, but when i reset the program, all the playlists start playing the song #1.
Solution: Each playlist tab memorizes the song # it played last.

And another suggestion:
- On and off option: Automatic play on the tab change.
Ie: I have tab A playing. I click on the tab B and it automatically starts playing.

If this already exists somewhere, i'd be more than happy to know smile.gif)

for the random problem, use the shuffle function of foo_shuffle. it is included in the special version download, or you can download the file alone from the offical site.

Yeah, i already checked that out .. that plugin has the same problem .. it doesnt memorize already played items per playlist (if playlists are switched)...
mazy
i guess there could be plugin that would do that using foo_history's history wink.gif

i thought this was brought up before.

Random is differnet to shuffle, it will repeat.

best thing to do is to randomize the playlist and let it play from the start, no random or shuffle, just let it work it's way down the playlist.

A_Man_Eating_Duck, what you just said avoids the problem i was encountering.

-Shuffle the list. Allright.
-It comes to the song # 10 on the playlist.
-I turn off the Foobar.
-I turn it back on.
-It resumes where it stopped (if option resume playback after restart is checked).

[PROBLEM]
-I start listening the playlist A, it comes to the song #10.
-I change the playlist from A to B (2 different files).
-I change back to the list A (where i want to continue listening to the songs i havent heard so far).
-The previous list position wasnt memorised, thus is reset and its not playing from song #10, but from the start, song #1.

See where i'm aiming at ?
