When using foobar2000 (mp3 playback):

My Example:

- Open foobar2000 0.7.6
- Play song "xxx.mp3"
- Pause foobar2000 playback
- (don´t close foobar2000)
- Open Winamp 5.01
- Play the same song ("xxx.mp3")

--> in this last step the sound freaks out.... my speakers start "ringing" until I either stop the playback in winamp or foobar2000

My stuff:

- SOUNDCARD: SoundBlaster PCI 128
- SPEAKERS: Teac PowerMax 260/2
- OS: Windows XP Professional

what output mode are you using on foobar and winamp?

(why not use only one player)

It's a problem in your soundcard/drivers, try updating them.
You should also try disabling hardware mixing.

Ok..... in my other computer I have the manufacturer´s drivers installed and I don´t have this problem, while in this computer I have de OS built in drivers running..... so you should be right..... this should be a drivers problem.
In both winamp and foobar2000 I´m using DirectSound Output.
I´ll install the manufacturer´s drivers and see if it solves the problem... wink.gif
