I ripped a "live" CD that was burnt with a two second gap. I don't have the CD anymore so I have to remove the gaps from the wav files. How should I do this?

there are cunning tools called "audio editors" for that purpose smile.gif
Nero has one included, but there are many others like Cool Edit Pro (hich would be overkill for simple trimming), too.

open wav file->select gap with mouse drag->edit->cut->save

I know, but it seems impossible to remove exactly two second and be sure that you removed exactly two seconds.

Hmm. True. I know you can use WAVTrim (http://www.logiccell.com/) to crop your files, but it does its job by detecting digital silence (and if you so wish, analog silence as well).

Wavtrim detects silence and removes it. But can't you just tell some program to remove 88200 samples at the end? Is it realy that complicated?

ciao..

this sounds like it could easely be done with
making a gapless cue. of the wav`s..

(btw. if they have been compressed to
etc. mp3 in the meantime.. (bad encoder/encoding)
you may have picked up a small digital "click"
from decoding.. it shouldn`t happen..
in case.. check it anyway..
this also regards wav`s that have been prossesed
by a editor.. (markers..))

of course you can. just open the tracks in a wave editor like soundforge, wavelab, samplitude, audacity, cooledit, whatever, and make sure the time format is shown as samples. then just select 88,200 samples from the end and delete.
