seems this would be a quick way to support the various formats that do not already have a native input plugin...realaudio via guliverkli directshow splitter etc..does something like this exist already?

yeah.. i like this idea a lot. there are other applications here, too.. i could benefit from one of these to get real 5.1 audio out of my strange audio system. would this still work properly with the dsp chain, though?

seems a good idea cool.gif

Any news on this?

A DSP component that would allow to use DirectShow filters into the DSP chain of foobar would be excellent and would add infinite possibilities to our favorite player!

Amog the best, and most requested features:

Proper Winamp2 DSP plug-ins support and all the other sound processing features of ffdshow!!!
Dolby ProLogic 2,Dolby HeadPhone and Dolby Virtual Speaker processing

And alot of other filters that have great features.

Personally, I don't give a damn to winamo's plugins, but alot of people do, and are sick and tired of talking abou it.

If you aren't interested, fine...neither am I, but realise some people are, and what I suggested does have many useful aplications beyond what I have said.

I may be just saying nonsense from the programming point of view and this might be impossible or very hard to achieve, but I think it is a good ideia anyway.

Hey guess what, you're kind of out of options when no able coders are interested in making your wishes come true. Unless you can do this yourself, and you're only asking because you're lazy, and you really intend to do it promptly.

But really, the only remotely feasible way to do Winamp DSPs is to use a multiple instance copying and loading method to support use in different DSP chains. Even with that, the configuration issues will screw things up, and the stream is limited to 16 bits and only two channels. Ho, I suppose you could load multiple instances for each pair of channels... God, what a sick idea.

Hmm, or was it only Vis limited to 2 channels? I don't really remember anymore. Feel free to enlighten us when you have the time to make your own dreams come true, and do remember to have fun playing with such classic software. Or you could break out your old copy of QuickBasic and probably do something a lot more constructive.
