ok, i just bought the CD Feberero 14 from Alberto Plaza, and what i got is a Copy Protected one! I found out it is a macrovision CDS-200 CD, and even if i'm able to copy it with CloneCD, i can't seem to rip it so i can play it on my iRiver. I have looked arround the web, but i haven't got any luck as of yet. I have tried Isobuster, and i can see the tracks, but it takes too much time to rip them (like 1 hour for the 10% of first trakc). Any ideas?

edit: look -> luck

Use the search function, since this kind of question has arisen and answered many times already.

I would suggest you use EAC's "Detect TOC Manually" option (if you have <=0.9b3 version) and rip it with a speed <=4x. Check if that works for you.

thanks, i did search but couldn't find anything that would work for me. also tried EACs, but no luck either.

what i now have is a CloneCD image, that i can read with IsoBuster, and see all, but i don't know how to extract to wav.

I can right click on the "session 1" or the tracks, and i have the options to:

1) Extract User Data (*.tao, *.iso, *.wav)
2) Extract Raw but convert to User Data (*.tao, *.iso, *.wav)
3) Treat As Video Only, Extract but filter only M2F2 Mpg frames (*.mpg)
4) Extract Raw Data (*.bin, *.iso)

but the "Extract Audio To Wave File (*.wav)" is greyed out. So, what should i do? (I tried most of the options, but audacity seems not to like them).

Try CDMage to get .wav from the image or use some image mounting software like Daemon tools and rip with e.g. EAC from the resulting virtual drive.

Get a Plextor drive and Plextools?
kwanbis
well, daemon tools does not mounts the img, cdmage allows me to extract to wavs and to pcm, niehter does play ... if i burn the image, it plays perfect.

no, no plextools/plextor ...

in fact, if i have a correct CloneCD image, the problem is how to extract the tracks ...
dreamliner77
can't you mount the clone cd image in a clone cd virtual drive? Been a while since i used clonecd, but you should be able to mount it and then rip it as usual (as if it were another physical drive) with eac.
Joe Bloggs
I just installed Plextools for my non-Plextor drive, going to see how that works out with CDS200... but I guess I can't talk about this kind of stuff here tongue.gif
kwanbis
new clonecd does not haves virtual drive, they tell to use daemon tools meanhwile, but daemon tools complains about: Unable to mount image. Sync field not detected! Image may be corrup.
dreamliner77
sorry bout that, as i said, been a while since i used clonecd
minix
what drive do you have?
there are drives that can't read CDS200...

try different drives and programs (EAC, Feurio, Windac, etc).
kwanbis
there is no problem with the cd-rom drive, i have 4 dif ones, what i'm trying to do now is extract from the image, cdmage seemed to work but i cant heard anything i would burn the cd again, and listen it on my cd player ....
minix
with CloneCD you can't know if the extraction is fine or not until you burn it (or extract the wavs from the image).

If you use regular rippers, you can hear the tracks before burning them.
With the latest Mediatek chipsets you can easily extract CDS200 with any program typical program.

If you have 4 drives, surely there are people that have done the same as you with the same drive before... and you help us to know which drives work or not...

i thought CDS was cactus data shield? anywho, i just popped it in my $30 LiteOn DVDROM, set EAC to rip secure overnight and it was done when i woke up... i think i may have fxcked up my Pioneer A05 trying to read it... =\

are those CD-ROM drives? or CD-R(W) drives? or ...?

edit: question added tongue.gif
kwanbis
don't have them here right now, but one is a teac 56s (CD-R), other is a CD-RW one, and the third one is a DVD-R/RW/RAM one

Hmm...have you really tried EAC with all 3 of 'em? Unless it's one of the very latest CDS-200 versions, I doubt that you are so unlucky that none of your cd players can rip it. Personally I haven't found one protected cd yet, that my goold old Plextor cd-recorder can't rip successfully. Maybe it's something you are doing wrong when configuring EAC.

Additionaly I'd try putting CD in the drive after EAC has been started and the other way round. There's a difference with some drives here.

Well, it IS a Plextor, duh rolleyes.gif

Also, try burst mode in EAC along with the slower read speed suggested above. rolleyes.gif
