Has anyone seen or played with the Xitel Inport?

Xitel Inport

I found a review where the writer identifies the ADC chip used, but I don't anything about the quality of the chip.

Xitel review

I currently use a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card with a Spirit Folio Notepad mixer (which I need because the software for the Audiophile 2496 does not allow for easy adjustment of the Line-In signal). I really don't like using the mixer to record from vinyl as it adds an additional connection and maybe adds some noise. I am curious about the ADC quality of the Inport.

Thanks in advance.

the review doesn't really mention anything about the quality of the recordings.. its reliance on a VIA chipset that uses the AC97 standard suggests that it is going to be 48khz locked like all other AC97 devices and the soundblaster series.. as this would be one of the things that would be nice to avoid i dont really see it as being that useful.. i'm sure others with more know how will chime in but to be honest it looks a bit dissapointing to me...

Thanks! That is what I was afraid of.

If anyone else has any more info on the chip, please let me know.
