Hi--I extract all my CDs into EAC CDImages with cue sheets, because I don't know the read offset for my drive and so this is the only sure way to get seamless gapless playback of the ripped tracks. Is there a fast way for lame to make separate tagged mp3s from the CDImage and .cue? Or say I have split the CDImage back into wavs with individual track names, is there a good way to automatically generate tags then?
Or should I forget it and rip and encode again, this time directly to mp3 in EAC?

Try the CLI in foobar2000.

Why CLI but not LAME encoder diskwriter? Use foobar, it's very easy to do this. Especially with the freedb plugin.

Ah, here's the I-ate-a-lemon smiley

I finally found the diskwriter menu, but for some reason there's no option to write in mp3

and I can't find an mp3 diskwriter plugin anywhere

Try this page
Case's foobar2000 page.

Is it an uncompressed wav image you talk about ? If yes, you can always mount the cue with DaemonTools and re-extract (using any DAE prog you like) from the virtual drive with the benefit of FreeDB, Tagging etc.

um, it's a CDImage file created by EAC, I don't think that is a proper CD Image file?

image ripped by EAC is .wav and .cue
this is a standard cd audio image. Load away with Daemon tools.
