Tried to run l3dec, using the command line: l3dec -h24 file.mp3 file.txt and received the error:cannot exec go32. What does this mean and how do I resolve it? Thanks Jeff

You need to get go32.exe and put it in the same directory. I'm not sure where to find it... try doing an FTP search.

(Are you still trying to do that 24-bit hex decode, hex-->wav, and SSRC downsample? I'm curious what project you're working on where you need that extra tiny bit of resolution.)

Thankyou Warrior, although that seemed to help. I have encountered yet another error....Whenever I try to run l3dec I encounter a stack fault at eip:506d. I'd just like to test this program out for myself to see what if any changes I might find. I'm a little confused it's been suggested to me that I use Cool Edit Pro to downsample to what was it 16 bit? My question is why downsample at all and would it result in a loss of quality to do that? Thanks Jeff.

You need it if your soundcard handles only 16 bit. Ah and there is a size problem too. And if you are burning them to CD remember it needs to be 16bit/44,1kHz.
You have a slight chance of noticing the quality difference if you have a true 24bit DAC on your soundcard (check ff123.net). If you don't then you are wasting time.

By the way, if you haven't already read these sources, make sure you check out the 24-bit listening test thread and ff123's 24-bit analysis (the link isn't working at the moment, but it's probably just a temporary server issue), so you can see what results other people have had with 24-bit (unencoded) samples.
