Hi everybody,

I'm pretty new to all this but very interested in learning.

How can I tell the difference between a VBR downloaded Mp3 and a CBR Mp3?
Also can you convert a VBR into a CBR Mp3?

The reason I ask this is that I have just downloaded a music programme that will only function properly with CBR Mp3's.

Thanks in advance

Load the mp3 into your favorite player and click file info. If the player is decent enough, it should indicate if it's vbr or not.

You can.... but it's not recommended. You lose quality if you do it. But since it seems like its necessary for you to play them, you can either decode them to wavs and reencode into cbr, or do it in programs like foobar2000.

Delete it.
