Full Version: EAC error reporting when NO disable cache

I recently downloaded some music ripped with EAC, with the logs attached. Looking at them, I saw that the cd:s have been ripped with the cache still enabled, but when checking the cd-unit used to rip (a Lite-on LTR-40125S), it apparently _do_ cache audio. (I Found this and this.) Irritating that this guy didn't do it properly, but nothing I can do about it now, 1.3 Gb later...

Something I find a little strange however, is that some tracks are reported to have 99.9% quality, and one track 97.2%? I thought EAC would always report 100% quality in this case?
Is using EAC with the settings above equivalent with using burst mode?

/Johan

From the logs:
Used drive : CD-RW CDR-5S40 Adapter: 1 ID: 1
Read mode : Secure with NO C2, accurate stream, NO disable cache

Let's assume he indeed misconfigured EAC (very probably, but only he can confirm)...
If he'd have used test&copy, most CRCs would mismatch, indicating EAC is badly configured, and the secure mode is not secure at all.
Is this equivalent to burst mode, you asked. Erm... yes, I don't see a difference.

burst mode may be slightly safer because no error recovery is attempted.

Neither is it in secure mode, since secure mode is 'sabotaged', so to say smile.gif
