:)

This is total nonsense!
Of course there's no audible difference, since DAE is either perfect or not (as discussed many times before; look in the FAQ). Some people believe that PlexTools error detection/correction is superior to EAC's for Plextor drives.
PlexTools rips also shouldn't be "a tad bigger", but that could be the result of a different pre-gap handling.
Another plus for PlexTools is, that it has pre-set offsets for all Plextor drives.

Sometimes (if you own a newer Plextor RW drive and encounter Read/Sync errors with EAC) Plextools are still able to retrieve a perfect rips at the expense of having an interface that isn't quite comfortable (to say the least) as EAC's and does not allow any given CLI encoder to be used.

My Plex Premium (in conjunction with Plextools Pro) can sometimes recover badly damaged discs (still erraneous with remaining CU errors being reported, but without audible problems) where EAC fails with audible clicks/mutes in secure mode. This doesn't have to be the case - from my experience, it can be the other way round as well.

Obviously it doesn't hurt to install both EAC and Plextools ... both do an excellent job at DAE although I prefer EAC due to it's higher flexibility and cuesheet ripping (Plextools can be only set to ripping a single file on multiple selection).

My main task for Plextools (Pro version available with Premium and PX708A only) is the C1/C2/Jitter disc scan for recorded/pressed media and the TE/FE disc scan of blank media, though ... I always like to be informed about certain aspects of quality laugh.gif

@ dev0.
don`t flame me.. this is a quote from a resent thread at this board..

i belive the topic was about accuracy between theese two.. in general..
(on plex. drives.)

There's no flaming of any kind pointed towards you here.
Please don't abuse such a claim in this context that's just very low

I personally use PlexTools for the sake of copy-controlled audio CDs ripping.
It's able to mount only first session

I have an older Plextor 12/10/32A. For my use, Plextools ripping quality is at least as good as EAC and it's much faster.

Ripping with EAC in secure mode tops out at around 11x. With most discs, Plextools speed starts ripping at around 12x and by the end of the disc is often as high as 30x.

I also seem to have better "luck" ripping damaged or defective discs with Plextools.

Isn't that because plextools relies on C2?

That's right, it does. And that's a good thing.

Almost sounds like you'd be saying that EAC's interface is "user-friendly" unsure.gif

Have you even used the two programs? If you had you would have found that Plextools interface for inputing CD info (artist, title, album etc.) is limited & hard to work with, compression options are also rather limited.

EAC might be difficult to understand for novice users but for people who take a few hours to read one of the many online EAC guides & get past the configure stage (not you) will find EAC to be one of the most user-friendly rippers available.
