mh i read up a little on it but still I cant read my perfect clean cd's very fast, normally it reads at 6x speed.

plextor 40/12/40 A driver with latest firmware and latest EAC version.

did drive detect as well.

anything I can safely change so my rips are faster without worrying about errors?

Use Plextools ? AFAIK it's faster and as secure as EAC because it accesses some otherwise hidden features of the drive.
tigre
Use EAC burst mode test + copy and compare CRCs after the rip. Extract tracks with different CRCs again in secure mode.

how do I set it up so it reads freedb info and encoded to mpc?????

man this stuff is complicated
atici
That you can do with foobar. Maybe you can do it with PlexTools too, I never had one.

BTW What's the difference between the regular and the Pro version?
germanjulian
I dont get it plextools rips to wav at 23X speed and eac at 6 speed. oh well.

I supposed I will use Plextools to rip and Foobar2000 to encode.

can anybody tell me if I can use plextools to encode as well to mpc?

and is plextools error free? I take it so cause I got a Plextor drive in the first place smile.gif

any settinsg in plextools I should enable or disable.

First time I use it.

Thanks guys where would I be without you

(OK OK I know I would have some stupid $$$ program and rip to mp3 at 128Kbps)

But be careful with EAC it probably appears slower because of the additional encoding time. If you only ripped to WAV it might have been different.

I don't know about the info on how to use it. I am sure you can find it on google somehow, probably with a manual as a .pdf file.

I think if I had a Plextor I'd use Plextools because I heard it's nice. But Plextor drives are expensive so I stick to my Lite-On + EAC.

Edit: I found this referred for additional info. You also need to upgrade your firmware to the latest. And all upgrade downloads at this page come with a manual in different languages, it's probably installed into the folder PlexTools is installed in...
