Looking for a GOOD frontend for OGGENC (OggDrop sucks 'cause don't have a full options control).
Something similar to RazorLame would be great.

Try OggDropXPd, available at

Well guyz here is the problem:
I have a 32 KHz, 16 bits, stereo source (.WAV) and i want encode at 56 Kbps.
So i need to enable the full bitrate management engine.
With OGGENC i have used "--managed -b56" but it says: "Mode initialisation failed: invalid parameters for bitrate"
I'm quite disappointed... what i have to do ?
Wait for RC4...
Currently there is no support in Vorbis for Bitrates below 64 kbps.

Haven't tried it with a 32k file, only 44.1 and 48k are tuned anyway, but oggdropXPd will encode 44.1k at 56kbps, no problem.

As I recall, managed bitrates are only available for 44.1khz and 48khz.
I believe Monty (many moons ago, but I can't find the exact quote.. sorry if I am wrong) something to the effect of it not being worth resampling 48khz to 44.1khz but I am not sure if this still holds from 44.1 to 32khz.

Yes I recall this quote as well but I was thinking it might have been in #vorbis.
