Sad news. sad.gif The foam edges on the cones of my 20 year old woofers have crumbled. The cost of repairing them will come to about 60% of the cost of getting replacement woofers from the manufacturer. These are real good loudspeakers.

I know that manufacturing methods have changed over 20 years, not always for the best. New replacement speakers may not be as good as these old ones after repair. Or they could be even better...

Anyone have experience getting their speakers repaired or replaced?

I personally replaced the surrounds on my Advent Loudspeakers after my sister managed to crumble the 30 year old foam by playing a crappy punk rock album at full volume dry.gif. It really wasn't that difficult, and it certainly fixed the problem. They sound spectacular again. =)

And a great selection of speakers. I'd replace them.
