I haven't decided yet, whether to think of this as giving a dead horse one last kick, or that maybe this really is a great thing.

1GB discs huh? about time... Data mode for general storage also nice. The music side contains all kinds of useless "copy protection technology" and their beloved Atrac3plus codec (but nothing else). Hmm oh yeah, it can format the 140mb discs into near 300mb, according to the docs. I guess its a last kick all right. I could use it if they dumped all their useless baggage, say, make a data only device and maybe add decoding/encoding of other codecs like the rest of the market does with other media.

But i bet those discs are going to be very expensive... Nah, it will die as it deserves.
