Been a while since i've used mad and speeks frontend.

Trying to use it to decode some mp3's to wav
I know i used to use it to see how many clipped samples each track had
But now i can't remember how to either a) keep the dos box open after decoding or b) write a log.

And on a side note: Approximately how many consecutive clipped samples would need to exist to be audible?

To keep the DOS-box open (in Win2k/XP) the "Pause" button must be pressed. It's not possible to write log-files with the frontend. I think you need the "-v" (verbose) option to show the number of clipped samples (but I didn't check). I think it's not possible to give an answer about how many clipped samples need to exist to be detectable. It's probably best to use the "-a" switch to attenuate the volume when there are clipped samples. Hope this helps,

ah, thanks speek.

Love your front ends. Thought I had written a log before, but maybe I'm thinking of something else.
