Hi all wink.gif

I'm actually using LAME 3.95.1 and I have some questions about it:

- Why presets uses -q3?

When I use --alt-preset 128 or --alt-preset cbr 128 (with all bitrates) I get this:
Encoding as 44.1 kHz average 128 kbps j-stereo MPEG-1 Layer III (11x) qval=3
Is the broken preset or what? Won't be better with -q2?

-Why not use the E3DNow! feature?

When i encode with LAME 4 I get this:
CPU features:MMX (ASM used), 3DNow! (ASM used), E3DNow! (ASM used), SSE (ASM used)

Why don't use it on 3.9x encoder? Won't speed up the encoding process?

the old -q2 is mapped to the new -q3, so they are the same. I think it's because they added that new best huffman divide feature to -q0, so they all got bumped down a number.

Because it needs to be programmed. Your contribution is welcome.
