Full Version: LiteOn 522446S acting funny.

I've got that drive 4 or 5 months ago, but used it very little, mostly for burning.
The 52446S is working fine, but when used in conjunction with EAC, I have seen it taking about 10 or 15 seconds at the end of all tracks (99.9% to be precise).
After finishing the whole disk, all tracks were ok, and most shows 100% quality, no errors reported.
The delay is annoying me and something is not right.
I've tried to disable C2 and "syncronize between tracks", but nothing changed.

Updating the firmware and ASPI didnt help.
The system(win98SE) is a fresh install, no virus, no spies, autorun disabled and nothing is running in background.
Have anyone experienced similar problem with that particular drive?
Thanks for any tip.

/edit/: typo and clarify.

Have you told EAC that your drive supports reading LeadIn / LeadOut?

Changed, but no improvements.
Read my findings on this other thread:

What do you mean? The option should be turned off. smile.gif

I know.
It was off, then changed to on, but no improvements.

BTW, does anyone know if Plextor PX-W4824A can read into
LeadIn/LeadOut?

OK, I did not make myself clear enough.

You should turn that off, as LiteOn devices cannot read the LeadOut. wink.gif

Well, the only solution to eliminate the stops at the end of the tracks and the slow ripping after track #1, was to leave the cache on, and not allowing EAC to disable it.
Now I can reach speeds of 9-12x, and no problems like clicks, pops or any fault extraction.

Poor solution. This way you make your copies insecure.

Try to uncheck 'allow speed reduction during extraction'. All the LiteOns control the audio ripping speed internally and don't like this setting on.

edit:
a remark about insecure copies added

Yes. biggrin.gif
I can confirm that The PX-W4824A reads Lead-in/Lead-out successfully (tested with firmware 1.0-1.05).

Enjoy, tec
