Hello. I've come out of my usual lurker mode in order to ask just what the hell are "atom errors" when ripping in cdda2wav with libparanoia enabled. I've been having a difficult time trying to rip an EMI "Copy Control" music disc (wouldn't call it a "CD"). Cddda2wav gets a perfect grab of the audio, but I do notice on the output report that everything else is fine except for 6 to 8 (depending on the track) "atom errors". I've searched Google for the info and have found nothing. I do notice that when I rip a redbook compliant CD I do not receive these errors.
So, if someone would be so kind ... what are these "atoms" and what does it mean that I'm getting between 6 to 8 of them for each track? The audio sounds fine, but I really would like to know what this is and what it all means.
Much thanks!

Google and forum searches still reveal nothing!
Really - no one here knows what these atom errors are???
Please help!
After googling, I guess that these atom errors are symptoms of the copy protection. Atomic actions are internal stuff (I don't understand why "atom" is literally printed out?); in short an atomic action either succeds or fails and is not aware of other processes.
I don't think your copy _should_ sound ok after these messages? I suggest you check your wavs with deglitch.
Edit: clarifying atoms.

Hmm, just a guess:
Perhaps "Atom Errors" are one sample errors (just a single sample out of place). IF this is true they might not produce actual audible errors...
