Full Version: Listening tests for some new encoders
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Hydrogenaudio Forum > Validated News

On my webpage there are 4 encoder (available for Linux IA32
and Windows). I'm interested in the sound quality of these
4 encoders labeled with A, B, C and D. Don't trust the
bitrate display, there're some fakes.

Differences may occure in high frequency encoding (17...19 kHz)
and in music with a lot of dynamic.

Choose useful examples and rate the encoders. Email me the
result and the name of the used samples.

Will you be making you results public Frank? I'd be interested in reading about this experiment.

Yes, of cause.

I will made some deeper changes in the psycho acoustics in the
next time. After every change I need some tests by people with
good hearing to avoid optimizing the encoder for my ears only.

are the listeners supposed to concentrate on certain bitrate ranges / presets?

--standard or --radio

But tweaking listening tests should always be done
at something lower quality setting to get
significant results outside stochastic noise.
