Hello, I recently got this drive and I'm getting terrible DAE with EAC.

I am using C2 error correction and all the settings that EAC recommended for the drive. When it begins reading the cd, i hear the drive spinning up faster and faster and the DAE speed keeps increasing towards the end of the track. At the end of the track however, it spins down, and only reads the cd at about 3x for the remainder of the disc. It never spins up again and reads quicker.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? And why at the end of some tracks it begins looking for errors, even on new discs, but never finds one.

toodles!

I had the same problem with that drive. I disabled "allow speed reduction during extraction" in the drive options and now it works just fine. It starts out at about 5x and towards the end of the disc it goes all the way up to 10-12x. I'm not using C2 though, so maybe your speed will be even higher.

yep, that seemed to fix it. thanks a lot!

what other options should i have. the offset is +6/-6, right? and lead in/lead out is checked.
Sebastian Mares
+6/-6 is OK, LeadIn/LeadOut overred should be unchecked or you will have errors in the last samples of the last track as LITE-ON drives cannot overread into LeadOut.

I have the same drive and had the Lead-in/out overread on, but have never got/heard any errors in the last samples of the last track... Is there a chance there aren't any, or are just not audible?

Depends on the drive. From what I have heard some drives return null samples when trying to read unsupported lead-in/out, other return garbage...
