Okay... so there is a computer-thingy named BitTorrent and you can download the new fb2k-version and other files with it.

So far so good.
A search about that BTorrent-thingy here on HA and with Google gave me some informations... but I actually don't understand them - but I gathered it might be a good thingy (to keep downloads for the host economical or something).

Oh well.
So I downloaded that Torrent-thingy from the official BitTorrent-website and tried to get the new fb2k-versionwith it. Now there's a little window on my screen, telling me "connecting to peers"... three hours now connecting.

Hmmm.
Meanwhile I read that firewalls or if you're using an university-internet-connection, the torrent-thingy might/will not work.

Well, bottomline is: I have problems with BitTorrent, I don't find good informations on the net or at least not infos that I understand (languagewise or knowledgewise).

Any help appreciated (make it easy, pls.)

Looks like fb2k-beta-specials are all torrent-files, btw.

Right now I am stuck, not knowing anything about firewalls, NAT-thingys, Ports and all-a-that I am not familiar with.

I suppose I have to deal with the fact that my computer is on a university-internet-connection and therefor I cannot use BitTorrent.

Sorry fb2k-hosts - I tried but I failed on the BitTorrent-thingy. Guess I still have to use the common download-possibilities, if there will be any in the future.

edit: OMG - I cannot believe it! After more than three hours that BitTorrent-thingy started downloading fb2k 0.8b1 at a whooping 1kiB/s download rate! Suxxess!!!

well, for me both betas started immediatly downloading with full speed from bit torrent network using azureus client.

i don't know too how that THINGYYY works but it gives me always the newsest foobar beta and it's quite fast...
