Full Version: What is the optimal DSP ordering?

I'm using Convolver, Resampler, crossfeed, advanced limiter, volume control, and gap killer.

i'll probably replace gap killer with crossfader or even case's new gap/crossfading plugin if it works.

what's the most optimal ordering?

i searched but didn't find those. i searched for "dsp ordering" and something else that failed as well sad.gif

Put resampler on the top of dsp chain, then convolver, crossfeed and gap killer. Then volume control and on the end of dsp chain put advanced limiter.
BTW in foobar's directory there is a faq.html file. You really should look there first, this question is answered there...

No, the resampler should go near the end, otherwise the other DSPs after it will be processing more data than they need to.

EDIT: Actually, I suppose it also depends on if you're resampling multiple sample rates or if you're just resampling 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz.
