Hey guys i was wondering if there was a lame compile for the Apple G4 cpu. I've been using this Itunes Lame script, but it soooo slow to encode -aps mp3s.

Is there a G4 optimized compile around anywhere that will speed this up?

(btw i got a 1ghz g4 and it rips/encodes @ 1x or under 1x)

There isn't any code in lame that would directly benefit a G4 CPU, however are you using the lame from fink? Are you running many things in the background? I get roughly 2.7x on an G4/867 with v3.95.1, and still > 2x with 3.93 and prior so maybe you should just compile lame yourself?
