When I download "whole album" MP3 files, how can I extract single songs as you would with an albumwrap file? Some of these albums are too large to convert to wav and burn on one CD. Is there a software program to do this?

Well, I've never used "albumwrap" so I don't know what you're referring to there, but a possible solution would be to decode the MP3 to one big wav, and then chop it up with a wav editor (for instance, highlight what you want 'one track' to be at a time in CoolEdit, then go 'save selection as'). You can then burn the resulting smaller wavs to CD(s) as you like with your burning software.
That's what's normally easiest for me, although I suppose it depends what software you have installed...

I would suggest going to this site:
Cuesheet Heaven and downloading your album's correct .cue file. I'm not sure what an "albumwrap" file is either. You can burn the mp3 with the right song indexes using a program that supports .cue sheet burning. I would reccommend Burrrn. Also there are some mp3 splitting programs that do support cue sheets. I haven't tested any though.

Yeah, I've just looked into it. MP3DirectCut and musiCutter both support extracting individual songs from a single .wav file with cue sheet support. Although I am wondering if it re-encodes the mp3s because when I analyse the split mp3s with EncSpot, only one of the files is the original encoder version(LAME 3.93), while all the others say "Blade." Do these mp3 cutters re-encode the mp3s to split them or do the cutters just mess up the headers, making EncSpot display the wrong encoder?
All big audio editors like Samplitude, wavelab cooledit will first have to decode your mp3 to process it.
Mp3 Directcut is one of a few which can directly work with a mp3 files, means it wont decode it it...It will keep the file as it was-no encoding no decoding when you split the file-Its also much faster becouse that

The reason only one says lame is because new headers have to be written for the file.
Hi all:
Thanks for the help. I've found the cuesheets and am going to try MP3 DirectCut.
