Full Version: Replay gain support in MCF

After having read most of the AAC, MPC and Vorbis related posts about Replay Gain implementation ( and having voted on Dibrom's poll, guess ) i am still wondering what the best way for MCF ( Multimedia Container Format http://mcf.sourceforge.net ) would be to meet with the needs for all different supported audio formats, like Vorbis, AAC, MP3, MPC, MP2, etc. ?

Is there anything like a 'common' solution to be expected we could use for MCF, maybe with the good feeling that our replay gain implementation is good for most of the needs ? Please note that we dont plan to pack a complete Ogg container with Vorbis into our MCF files ( like what was done with some early AVI implementations for Vorbis ), so we can use only those exisiting tags being in the streams, not in the containers ( same for MP3, MPC, etc. ) !

I would either place all the playback data (ReplayGain, PostProcessing, Brightness etc.) somewhere in the header or in a seperate stream (playback control stream '*.pcs'?).
