Added basic MP4 AAC encoding/decoding

does this finally mean that .mp4 files are supported?

Yes WinAmp now playes back both MP4 and M4A files. This is standard AAC LC playback (not HE AAC). Pro version will rip and encode to MPEG 4 audio files also, in addition to straight AAC. All in all a very nice update in my opinion.

geez, *sigh*...
I guess I have to do an extensive search next time I post a news-submission...
1. sorry for 'doubleposting'
2. ...but why do ppl so often post that kind of news in general-(...) forum parts?!
if it is a minor update, that's the right thing, but when interesting, groundbreaking or simply long needed important bugfix releases appear, I feel it should be put into val. news. am I the only one?
guest0101
I agree that one of the threads should be moved to validated news so everyone can hear about this new release.
