I recently read about the wavefinder, which is a digital antenna which connects your computer to DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast, i think) radio via USB.

Broadcasts are encoded in mp2 format at a bitrate between 128 and 256 kbps, depending on the station and at 32khz. I know practically nothing about mp2, except that musepack uses some mp2 algorithms (this is a good sign methinks )

How would mp2 quality (assuming best possible reception) compare with mpc at similar bitrates? Would mp2 streams (let's say, at 192-256kbps) transcoded to mpc --standard sound 'transparent' compared to --standard from the original wavs?
