i noticed in foobar that i have some .mp3 files that are actually mp2 files. foobar plays those files anyway but shows me in the statusbar that it is a mp2 stream. i'd like to rename all those file to .mp2. is there a easy&fast way to scan some directories with 1000+ files for mp2 streams ?

Try putting "$ext(%_filename_ext%) %__codec%" or something similar in your playlist title formatting string. Then you can try sorting by display name, to narrow in on your files.

I'm not sure if there's an easy way to rename the filename extensions though.
