How to completely remove 1d3v2 tags from mpc files?

Thanks
JohnV
Months ago I used Menno's Universal ID3V2 editor for removing ID3V2 tags from MPC files.

Of course you should make backups before trying this.

Nah J, that's too old school tongue.gif

Do it the elegant way: Go to Speek's site and download Tag and Tag Frontend.

Now just add your MPC files, check "Remove Tags" and click on "Go".

BTW, this is a great tool for tagging. It can tag your MPCs based on file- and foldernames with APE tags, create sorted playlists, etc etc... Great job by Case (and Speek).

P.S.: Make sure to extract Tag.zip into your path (to c:windows for example, or add any folder to your path).

And if you only want to remove ID3v2 and leave other tags in, clear all options and specify in other options "--removeid3v2".

Thanks.

I've checked it with celine dion - all the way...a decade of song album and it says no ID3v2 tag.

Replaygained the album with --auto switch. Came out with -17.86dB to -18.50dB for title and -18.29dB for album.

Run replaygain --listallreport *.mpc and still get the strange result.
title based replay gain: K94
album based replay gain: K94
title based clipping prev: K76
album based clipping prev: K76

Tried to Replaygain --auto again and come out with different result of title based and album based. replaygain --listallreport still shows strange result.

My question.

Why each time I replaygained the same file/album it shows different value of dB adjustment? As far as I know, MP3gain (for MP3) will came out with the same value.

Is it OK with my title/album based dB level? or it is too quite? the original value for this celine dion album is -5.60db to -10.09dB for title and -8.36 for album.

There's something wrong with your files. These values are far too high (it will be too quiet). Also, Replaygain should always apply the same values to the MPCs (check the values with the Info of the Winamp plug-in, because there's a minor display error in Replaygain: shows 0.01 dB too much in some cases).

I happen to have this album too, so i encoded it to analyze this problem. Sure 'nuff, everything was fine here.

Here are my Replaygain results:

CODE

E:Celine Dion - All The Way... A Decade Of Song (1999)>replaygain --auto *.mpc

Album Gain is -8.21 dB for this CD (in reality it's -8.20 dB... i told you about the small display bug in Replaygain.exe). I tagged the files with APE 1.0 tags (in EAC, with MPCencT, see here).

Maybe you should delete your files and encode from scratch, because something is wrong with them, and i can't tell you what it is.
And as you can see, it all went fine for me.
