A while ago, when I was still using Foobar 0.7bsomething, I got a full album in AAC format with .MP4 extension.

I tagged them (APE) and I think I was busy replaygaining 'em, when obviously something went wrong, and all of a sudden, I couldn't play 6 of the 19 files any more. I looked through the forum and if I remember correctly I found a solution concerning corrupted tags, so I tried hex-editing the messed up files and at that time I got as far as getting one (1) file back to work. I don't know how I done it, as I was using a crappy hexeditor, that's why the rest didn't work probably.

But now I am using Foobar -.8b10, and it seems like I am getting a different error when trying to play these corrupted files

ERROR (foo_input_std) : MP4: unable to find correct sound track in the MP4 file.

I tried finding the above mentioned solution again, but now I can't seem to find any posts on the forum concerning AAC/MP4 corruption at all...

Anyone got a solution for me, as I really would like to get these files back and playing...

I tagged them (APE)

Bad idea. MP4 has its own tagging format. Adding APE tags will just make them corrupt.

I just used Foobar to tag them, and I only just now see that under preferences/playback/input/standard inputs it says that APE only applies to .mp3 files, so I guess I didn't add an APE tag to them...can't see where I should put how to handle aac/mp4 though. Also, besides NOT adding an APE tag (which I understand from the above Foobar doesn't add anyway by standard), how should I go to fixing these files from here??
