Yes yes, I did do the search for the other guy's post on the matter.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a fix since then sad.gif.

I've screwed around with it a bunch and have found that it pops/crackles when trying to play something that is above 48khz sample rate.

I tried rate lock and that doesn't help on files that are 88.2khz or 96khz sample rate.

Anyone have any idea on how to solve the matter? I'm pretty sure it's software-related (as opposed to hardware) since I returned the first Indigo I had due to that faulty plug and both that one and this one produce the crackling.

Cheers!

I noticed that heat has *some* effect, though there is absolutely no way for me to control it.

For a *brief* period after the computer has been off for several hours...it works almost normal for about 30 seconds or so tongue.gif.

Ugh...now the stupid thing has a low-volume buzz perpetually...cause by some kind of grounding problem. If I lay my finger on it..the buzz goes away.

@$#%&#@)(%$@#!

Greetings,

I've been through so much shit with my Indigo - it's driven me crazy. At the moment, I'm not using the card. I either listen to music with my notebook's onboard AC'97 (a piece of junk) or I don't listen to music at all... simply no other choice for me really.

I'm convinced the fault lies with the Indigo drivers.

My card is not faulty as I've tested it in other notebooks where it works. Furthermore, different Indigo's produce the same result on my notebook and on other notebooks of my exact specification.

Apparently - there is some incompatibility between my hardware and the Indigo.

Interestingly [very, I think]... the Indigo IO *does* work on my notebook: just fine. Supposedly the IO used the same drivers. Supposedly the same hardware re: output of audio.

Echo support have been absolutely useless. I've given them more information than they could have ever -dreamed- of. I handed them 3 months worth of troubleshooting information, debug outputs and test results. I've been in contact with the manufactorers of every bit of hardware in my machine: of particular note - my CardBus manufactorer (o2Micro) and my motherboard producer (Uniwell). All in all - Echo recieved a 10 page document from me.

The best they could come up with was "so that was an Echo IO you are using, right? Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?". I called international and waiting for 10 minutes in a queue for this.

In the end (by email) - their technical support agent (who contacted me, on average, between 3 and 4 weeks after I wrote him) - told me that he is very sorry that he doesn't know what the problem is... and that he suggests I try to get my money back.

Obviously, [given that I've been trying to fix this issue for 3 months] - I'm not going to be getting my money back anytime soon.

ANYHOO [enough ranting ^^]... I, unfortunately, don't have any of the documents that I sent Echo available on this machine.

I may make one two quick suggestions though for those experiencing this same problem:

1) Identify your Cardbus make. On the off-chance you're using an O2Micro controller - they occasionally [apparently] act strangely with cards requiring high bandwidth. Do a search on the net for a "O2Micro USB fix" or some such: some people have found this helpfull. It seemed to lessen the severity of my Indigo symptoms.

2) Take a look at your PCI latency settings (with Powerstrip, for example). Fiddling with your timer settings might help [again: I saw this affecting symptom strength in some ways]. Maybe your bios has options here also... take a look.

Besides that, I really don't have many suggestions that I'd say are worth your while. I've tried so many things over the last months its crazy... these were the only 2 which seemed to have any kind of effect.

Otherwise - you can always ask Echo support: they're awful helpful! :)

[Honestly, I'm sorry you're also having issues with this... it's just been my experience that there isn't much you can do. Sorry. I'll update here if I ever come accross a solution; otherwise, if you need to contact me - do it by email... I pop by hydrogenaudio maybe only once every month or so.]
