i am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to have a look at writing a plugin for foobar so that it can read and play .shn files?

they are mostly used for live bootlegs i think

there are a couple of winamp plugins for it, and may help . if anyone thinks they may be able to help ill do what i can, email at m.apuli@gmx.de or write on this thread

Use the special installer and include/check the shorten input plugin.

I am sure if you browse the 3rd party plugins website you will find ssamadhi97's excelent shorten input plugin. Even supports external ape tags for proper metadata support

I always use the Special installer. I looked at things after reading this thread. I have no Shorten support nor the plugin for it. It would appear it wasn't present in the 0.8 release?

I just grabbed the available plugin from the URL supplied.

rotjong, shorten plugin is included in the 0.8 special installer.

You do have to select it during the installation, unless you're doing a full install.
