I'm looking at purchaing Lite-On XJ-HD166 DVD-ROM, when I upgrade my computer again this summer. I will be using it for audio extraction via EAC. Does anyone have any feelings about this drive (Speed Performance, C2 Correction, etc.)?

I've had no problems with DAE yet. It depends on you if you'd like to trust C2 error reporting as used in EAC. I leave it unchecked to hopefully also detect the odd read error even if it would not be signalled with the so called C2 error reporting (Uncorrectable C2 errors).
It's just a bit noisy at full speed.
