They used C2 with EAC and did not set the read offset correction ... one reason why there must be differences since plextools always rip with offset correction ... and other EAC settings weren't mentioned (such as speeddown on errors, drive spinup etc.)
I agree that Plextools can save some (not all !) discs ... but I experienced it the otther way round as well ... once again, there is no universal solution.
I have the PX-W4012A drive used in the article. I can confirm that Plextools can rip lightly scratched cds that EAC cannot. But only lightly scratched. This drive is not good for audio extraction. I think Plextools wins because it can reduce the speed to 1X and 2X thru secret commands. Other programs can only reduce to 4X.
On an older computer I have two Plextor SCSI drives - TSi-32 and TSi-40. Eac can rip heavily scratched discs while Plextools gives errors.
